Property Testimonials

  1. Danila

The place was amazing. The view to the pond in the morning and afternoon was so relaxing. Jennifer was very nice send all the information to my email with directions which helped so much. Place was clean and very well organized. I love to cook and even we were on vacation we had breakfast in every morning and some lunches and dinners in as well and one think that really call my attention it was that they have a lot of spices, salt, sugar which most places don’t. That was so helpful and a nice touch. I definitely recommend the cottage all thumbs up.

There are so many things to take into consideration when planning a vacation perhaps you are wondering where to go with the kids so that they could enjoy some learning while also relaxing, by a lake soaking up the great outdoors after a hike or a bike ride? OR perhaps like me you are hoping to find some accessible peace for some elderly parents. My folks are 83 this year and I am truly blessed, first that they still have one another and second that I still have them in my life and they are enjoying 3 generations now of children. This trip was their combined birthday presents this year. And as they are not shy parents they had goals in mind, for what they wanted out of a vacation. For dad it was as simple as lobsters and clams, as often as possible, for mom it was loons and lobsters. For me I needed ease of access for them and safety.
    Cedarstone has it ALL.
The one floor living made the navigation of the cabin easy, the location made Bar Harbor a simple trek while the exploration of the quiet side of the island, along with all of Jennifer’s recommendations for where to eat and what to see, a breeze. Sleeping with the windows open and the cool night air brought sounds of bull frogs and a chorus of loons into the cabin every evening and early morning. A mother duck and her seven chicks floated by early one morning in the mist, additional visits from Deer, Hummingbirds, all matter of song birds, a plethora of sunshine and wonderful breezes and you had the perfect recipe for making wonderful memories on Long Pond.
Additionally if you are worried about what you might need in the cabin, the answer is NOTHING! for this host and hostess have thought of everything from the mr coffee and the keurig choice, to the tea kettle, to every utensil imaginable this home has it all. Outside they have thought of everything as well, whether to grab a life jacket and paddle to take out the canoe or just a lounge chair to soak up some sun on the dock it is all in place and just awaiting your visit. I would be remiss if I did not also mention, as my mother did at least 20 times, the cabin is spotless! “its so clean” high praise from the queen of clean herself!
I would for certain return to this charming cabin in the woods, the fact that we had no wifi or tv reception was a complete blessing for just being together but for the faint of heart who think they would wither away without it, you can grab a 4 G signal 5 mins from the cabin, even Dad learned he could live without the news and politics for a few days! My advice GO! unplug and enjoy…..we did!

Rick and I had a wonderful week at Cedarstone. The house was squeaky clean and beautifully organized and we thank you. We would like to reserve Cedarstone for two weeks next year.
