Property Testimonials

  1. Guests from NJ

Loved the house. It was great to be close to town so we could walk to the shops and restaurants. We enjoyed making jigsaw puzzles on rainy days. We have visited MDI and ANP several times and it was great to be back. Hiking, Cadillac Mountain, and tea at Jordan Pond were highlights as well as the many fine places to eat and ice cream in town.

  2. Guests from MD

We so enjoyed our stay at Blueberry Hill! My son was married on Cadillac Mountain on 9/13/18 and both families came and rented houses for the week. Our location here was perfect and the house was roomy and never felt crowded for seven adults! We are all in love with Bar Harbor and cannot wait to return!

  3. Guests from MD

Thanks so much for your lovely house and great location… we hiked and biked Acadia, saw sunrise, enjoyed a “lobasta” boat tour, explored the entire island and enjoyed the shops and restaurants. Such nice people and the weather was awesome- we plan to return to “Ba Haba” and start a new tradition with our family.

  4. Guest

Thank you for such an amazing home to celebrate my mom’s 60th! This is such a beautiful town! Enjoyed staying in this home with my family!

  5. young guest from North Carolina

Hey! So yeah, the trip was amazing and so was the house, but pretty much everyone so far has talked about this, so I thought I would switch it up a little.
The sunrise at Cadillac Mountain is amazing. If you are planning to go, check out the sunrise time in Bar Harbor and plan to leave at least 45 minutes earlier. The sunrise time means when the sun is up, not the beautiful process of it, so go earlier! Also bring blankets, layers, and snacks!
HIKING- the hiking in Acadia is great! If you have a 4th grader in your family, you can get a free pass! See the National Park Visitor Center to see if they are still offering this. Make sure to bring water and food on your hike!
EATING- Ice cream at MDI is amazing! Some places I recommend are- The Chocolate Emporium (Ben & Bills) and The Pink Pastry shop. We haven’t tried many, but Adelmann’s and CJ’s Big Dipper look awesome!
Food recommendations- BLAZE, Jalapenos, Side Street Café, and Café This Way (I’ve heard it’s really good!)
TIP- make reservations to places like BLAZE several hours in advance.
Also, bike, kayak, LuLu’s lobster boat, walk on the Shore Path, etc… are some good ideas I couldn’t fit. Also, boating and rock climbing at the place next door, too!
Hope you use and enjoy this from a kid’s point of view! Thanks for reading!

  6. D&K

We loved our time at Blueberry Hill-we love the size and layout of the house so much, we wish we could take it home with us! Seriously, it was great to come home after a day of adventuring to such a welcoming place! We last came to Bar Harbor 8 years ago and stayed at Shiver Me Timbers, another Maine Island Property, which we loved too. It was great being in town this time so we could walk to the shops and restaurants. Some of the things we did this trip: hiked, biked, sunrise & sunset on Cadillac Mountain, Acadia Night Sky Festival at Sand Beach, Popovers at Jordan Pond, seals at Indian Point, carriage road/Rockefeller’s bridges Ranger tour, lobster every day, beer at Atlantic Brewing Co., 3 dinners at Cafe This Way (best food in town!), walked out onto the sand bar and hiked Bar Island, found an AWESOME new shop in Northeast Harbor (Swallowfield), lunch at Milk & Honey, Thuya Gardens, Asticou Gardens, Thunder Hole (it was REALLY great yesterday), heard the cobblestones on Hunter’s Beach and stuff I’m sure I’m leaving out. All in all, it was a great trip! Thanks Jennifer, for all of your help!

  7. Two Families - Summer 2017

We had so much fun on our second stay at Blueberry Hill. It was as enjoyable as our first stay! Everything in the house is so neat and organized. Our vacation is so much better:-) It is amazing to always have a house to come back to after a long day out. Thank you very much for hosting our family!

  8. Chris

Just want to let you know we had a great time and my Brazilian friends were very impressed with Bar Harbor and the surrounding area. The house was great, location perfect. I’m hoping to return next year for another week. Thanks.

  9. Leon and Cherie, et al

Enjoyed the lovely home. We biked, hiked and ate lots of food. We cooked lobster one night for our first time. The weather was messy for several days but we still got out and about. MDI ice cream was enjoyed by all several nights. Had breakfast at Two Cats one morning and would love to have gone back. Ate supper at Side Street Cafe and had a great meal and SWEET iced tea which was a surprise. According to our waitress, the owner is from Alabama so that explained the tea! Thanks for sharing your home with us. It was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay.

  10. Brent, Claire, Vanessa, Sam and Chloe

Thanks for a great vacation home! We loved the hammock swings and are going to look for them when we get home. We love Bar Harbor and Acadia. 3rd trip and it won’t be the last. Wonderful place to make lots of family memories with our kids. We hiked and biked every day and of course ate ice cream after dinner every night.

  11. Margaret (Grandma) and Family

What a perfect home for our annual family vacation! You thought of everything we could possibly need. Strolling through town, eating at all kinds of cool and delicious places, and surrounded by such friendly people. Margaret’s first time at Bar Harbor was great – totally worth the 9 hour drive from home.

We loved the house – kids loved the bunk beds, the swings, the darts and games! Had lots of fun exploring the town and ANP. Skipped lots of rocks and ate A LOT of ice cream! Only wish we could stay longer.

  12. Two families from PA and NJ

Wow! What a great vacation! The house was great – so warm and comfortable. We hiked and ate – and hiked and ate! So much fun. Too bad we couldn’t stay longer. Thanks so much for making our stay so enjoyable.

  13. Family from Falmouth, ME

This place is home away from home without all the responsibilities of being home! We enjoyed all that Bar Harbor and ANP has to offer. This location is so close to the shops , restaurants, pier, the Shore Path…etc. And yet is very peaceful and quiet. We have been coming to MDI for the last 6 years and believe we have found the perfect spot for our family. Thank you for sharing your home with us. We hope to be back next year.

  14. Virginia and Family

What a great vacation! This house was in the perfect location for everything! We loved being so close to town and Acadia. It sure beats the tent camping we’ve done for years! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to MDI as we have for may years past. Can’t wait for the next visit – hopefully here!

  15. Family from Vienna, VA

This was a wonderful location for our family to stay – so close to Bar Harbor and to Acadia. We made many happy memories here. We loved being a quick 5 minute drive to all the activities in Acadia – Sand Beach, Thunder Hole, countless hikes – you name it! We’ll keep this in mind for our next trip up here:-)

  16. Two families from New York

Thank you for an amazing place to begin our first annual (two families) vacation. This home was as much a part of our vacation as the sights of the island. Our plans were centered around many wonderful meals and this home was the perfect place for our family meals. We especially enjoyed the sun porch and hammock. Our kids were equally excited about the bunk beds as they were about Bridge Island and Thunder Hole. We look forward to returning in the years to come for more family dinners, Adelman’s, sea kayaking and popovers!

  17. Three Families

We absolutely loved the house, so perfect for the family. Loved how close it was to everything, the well stocked kitchen and how it felt like home away from home. Perfect spot for the vacation. Bar Harbor is wonderful and we all want to come back. Thanks for the memories!

  18. Kate and Family

We were completely satisfied with your beautiful home as our base of operations this week! It was such a homey and comfortable place to come home to after exploring MDI or relax at on a rainy day. As always, Acadia did not disappoint and we enjoyed hiking some of our favorite trails – Great Heat, South Bubble and the Jordan Pond Loop. We discovered some new favorites too – Compass Harbor and the ruins of the Don Mansion were a pleasant surprise. Sad to be hearing home after a lovely week introducing our newest family member to my home state – can’t wait to come back again and again!

  19. Jennifer

Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us! It was a great place to come back to after a day of adventuring and be able to relax, play games and prepare home cooked meals! The kids enjoyed MDI ice cream most nights and the beauty of Acadia National Park. This is an area we will return to in the future for sure.

  20. CR

We just spent a week in Bar Harbor for my daughter’s wedding and couldn’t have been happier with the trip! This house is located right at the edge of all of the activities- shopping, restaurants, tours, etc.- in town and we were able to walk to everything which is a plus when it’s crowded! The cottage was attractively decorated, very comfortable and provided everything we needed for our stay.

  21. Matt

There is so much to explore in Bar Harbor and on Mount Desert Island. Our young family of six plus grandma and grandpa did our best to see everything! We managed to do four family hikes plus the precipice and some rock climbing. We also went on two boat tours, carriage road bike rides and even putt golf. Each day was full and each meal was amazing. We managed to eat lobster and blueberries every day. We also could not get enough of MDI ice cream. In the end it was refreshing to have a home here in town to return to. We had everything here and more than we needed. We will miss this beautiful island and home. Thank you for sharing it with us, we hope to be back again!

  22. Daniel

This is our second year vacationing at 3 Atlantic Avenue! We love the house and are so pleased with the comforts it affords our family. Being within walking distance to Bar Harbor is convenient and fun! As always Acadia is beautiful beyond words! We also enjoyed a day trip to the Cranberry Islands. Peaceful and quiet. Thank you for sharing your lovely home. We plan to return!!

  23. from Philly and Iowa

Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home! We had an amazing time here in Bar Harbor. Everything was beautiful, like the sunrise on Cadillac Mountain and the national park. We enjoyed every minute of our stay here and hopefully will be able to come back in the future. Some of the highlights of this trip have to be seeing a baby seal at Otter Point, listening to thunder hole, going to see Finding Dory at Reel Pizza and of course the ever changing weather! Maine was a wonderful vacation and an even better experience for my family. Thank you once again!

  24. Families from Shelton, CT and Charlotte, NC

Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful house! We loved Bar Harbor and everything it has to offer! We will definitely be returning for another vacation! We all enjoyed Acadia National Park, the sand bar, Diver Ed, mini golf, great food, Reel Pizza watching Finding Dory, and the shopping! The house is in such a great location. We walked everywhere! Thanks for the wonderful memories!

  25. Fran

Stayed here with my husband and 5 family members to celebrate my 60th birthday. This town- and this house- exceeded our expectations! We all loved the house- furnishings, layout, location, etc. Nothing was missing- if we wanted or needed it, it was here. Some of us had never been here before and ALL of us plan to visit Bar Harbor again. The town, surrounding towns, Acadia Shore Path, Mt. Desert Island Drive, Villages of Southwest and Northeast Harbors, all of it was truly wonderful and some awe inspiring. Thank you Jennifer for your help and welcome!

  26. Davis

Great place! We really enjoyed our stay here with great friends! Love the location so close to everything downtown. The “Shore Path” became our favorite walk. Blueberry Hill is like a home away from home. We saw the sunrise on top of Cadillac Mountain. Would love to come back again!
