Great trip- so much to see and do. Schooner sunset was excellent! The home was perfect- close to downtown Bar Harbor & the National Park. Just a beautiful place to be.

  2. Guests from OH

Our last night at Island time. Our first visit to Bar Harbor. We were very comfortable in this house. Great kitchen, comfy beds and strong, good shower. The AC was appreciated this week. Thank you!
    For future guests:
-Breakfast: walk to 2Cats or Jordan’s
-The Bakery (Mount Desert Bakery); a stone’s throw from the house is the best on the island!
-Go to the top of Cadillac Mountain more than once.
    -Jordan’s Pond House for popovers.
-Drive to the other villages (such as Bass Harbor and Northeast Harbor) on the island. You could see them all in half a day.
-If you schedule a harbor cruise or whale watch, try on a weekend.
    -The Chocolate Mouse! Choco-Latte
-Walk to Bar Island at low tide.
-Go to the Town Pier and watch fisherman come in and out in the morning.
-Too many bike rides and hikes to mention.
-Grab the weekly periodical; Acadia Weekly- breaks down tide times and events for the week. Along with maps.

We (3 couples) had a great time in Bar Harbor and this house was a great base location for our adventures. The house is located on the Western edge of the downtown area. It was about a 10 minute walk to the main part of downtown. Though not right in the heart of town, there was some noise late at night (people returning from nights out) and in the morning with people leaving for work. Running the A/C on fan mode helped provide some white noise to cover up the outside noise. We were able to fit our 2 cars in the driveway. A third probably could have been squeezed in, but the third would block the other 2. We didn’t bring bikes, but the front enclosed porch would seem like a good spot to store a few bikes. The kitchen was good sized and we used it to cook several meals. There is a good selection of pots/pans, cooking utensils, plates, bowls, glasses, wine glasses, coffee mugs, and silverware. There was a drip coffee maker, French press, and electric hot water kettle. The common area had a large dining room table that offered plenty of room for board games, puzzles, and eating. There was a bookshelf with an eclectic assortment of books, some puzzles, and a couple board games. There was also some really cool 3D topo maps of the area on the walls. There was a small 1/2 bath right off the living room. The living room stairs led to a small landing with doors to 2 of the bedrooms and one of the full bathrooms (tub shower). There was also a flight of stairs from the kitchen which led directly into one of the bedrooms (there was a door in the kitchen for privacy). In the back of this bedroom was a door to the 2nd full bathroom (stall shower). This made one bedroom into a master suite, and the other 2 bedrooms shared a bathroom. The 3 bedrooms had window A/C units. There is a clothes washer and dryer in the small basement, and a clothes line on the porch.

We had an awesome trip! We did a lot of hiking: the Anvil at Schoodic Point, the Beehive, the Bubbles, Cadillac Mountain, and- for the first time in our five trips to Bar Harbor- the Precipice! WOW! We also had a very interesting kayak tour- it was so foggy we almost got cancelled. Instead we had a unique paddling experience with eerie views of the ships in Pretty Marsh Harbor.
The dining room table at the house was perfect for our nightly board games and puzzles. We loved all the puzzles here- jigsaw, metal, and wooden ones, all were solved over the course of our stay! We hope future guests enjoy their stay as much as we did, and we look forward to another visit in the future.

My family and I had a great stay at Island Time! We were in walking distance of the shops and restaurants in Bar Harbor and just a quick bus or car ride away from Acadia- and we loved that we were able to bring our golden retriever. The house was spotless when we checked in and full of games and movies that came in handy on rainy days. We really appreciated that Jennifer was quick to respond to any questions we had.

  11. Julie

My husband and I (and our two dogs) spent a week at this property and had a wonderful time. The house was very nicely furnished and had every amenity needed for a comfortable stay. There were even fresh lilacs in the house when we arrived which made us feel very special. We were so thankful to find such a great location (we could walk to everything) where our pets were also welcome. We would definitely stay here again!

  12. Pamela

We had a wonderful week stay at Island Time and exploring Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Some of our favorites: biking on carriage roads-Day Mountain loop and summit have great views, hiking trails-we did Beech Mountain; great spot and views, kayaking Somes Sound, Bar Island Beach, Parson’s for fresh fish and blueberry pie, Oceanarium is great for all, Park Loop Road and Cadillac Mountain. This house was great as we could walk in to town for the parks, ice cream, and shops. We loved not having to drive everywhere.

  13. Laura

We had a wonderful time. The house is very comfortable and the location is great. We recommend taking a kayak tour. We went with National Park Tours and had an amazing trip. The walk around Jordan Pond was also great.

We love this house! Thank you for sharing this treasure with us! We are most appreciative that you accept pets. It is so much less stressful for our dogs to have room to move around. Such nice amenities throughout the house- all of the comforts of home. Thank you again!

  15. from Michigan

We had an amazing time staying here and getting to enjoy the beautiful sights of Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, and the coast. We had an unforgettable experience and will definitely be coming back again! For the next guests here- I recommend rock climbing on Otter Cliffs, hiking Beehive Trail, explore the coast and look for sea creatures in tidal pools, eat breakfast at 2 Cats, whale watch, and wee what adventures you can find along the Park Loop Road- and don’t forget to watch the sunset from Cadillac Mountain! We hope everyone will enjoy their stay here as much as we did! Thank you Island Time!

  16. from New Jersey

We had a terrific vacation while staying at your home! Mother Nature was not particularly corporative this week, but we still managed to bike a bit- we loved Eagle Lake- and we fit in a wonderful kayak trip through National Park Sea Kayak Tours. Our girls, 13 and 15, love this location too. Our favorite food stops are the Sunday Farmer’s Market at the YMCA, Morning Glory Bakery, Gringos, Side Street Café, and Trenton Bridge Lobster Pound. I hope everyone who stays here has a great time too.

  17. Mark

We had a great time despite two days of rain. We did a lot- Jordan Pond, Cadillac Mountain, Sand Beach, Otter Cliffs, Thunder Hole, Bar Island, kayaking, lighthouse tour- and we still have lots we didn’t fit in. We’ll have to come back again.

  18. John

We had a wonderful time at the house. The weather was beautiful everyday. Acadia National Park is full of great hiking trails. Go to Jordan Pond House (in the park) for popovers. Also go bike riding on the carriage trails. We look forward to coming back next year.

  19. from Connecticut

What a wonderful stay we had! Thank you for opening your home. Highlights- Sunrise at Cadillac (4:59 a.m.), popovers and lobster stew at Jordan Pond, Beal’s in Southwest Harbor, and Schoodic-worth the drive!

  20. from Pittsburgh

Thank you for opening your home to our family. We especially appreciate you welcoming our dog. he is loving MDI and this would have been a long time to kennel him. Island Time is wonderfully located. I am mesmerized by the beach combing on the bar to Bar Island. Our dog was baffled by the changing availability of hikes to Bar Island. Besides the sand bar, our highlights of our trip include: popovers @ Asticou Inn and Jordan Pond House, leaving the car at Island Time and busing to hikes at Jordan Pond, Sand Beach, Bubble Pond, Little Long Pond, etc, Asticou Gardens, exploring tidal pools, carriage trails, movies at Reel Pizza & the Criterion theater, browsing Bar Harbor shops, dinners at West Street Cafe, Rosalie’s Pizza, Cafe This Way, Mache Bistro, live music at Side Street Cafe and breakfast at 2 Cats. Thanks again, we will be back!

  21. Ann

We had a really amazing week at Island Time- the house worked perfectly for our families. The kids loved the porch swing and we really enjoyed being able to walk into Bar Harbor. The highlights of our week: Thurston’s Lobster Pound, climbing up the Beehive trail, biking on the carriage trails, splashing across the bar to the island, hiking the Bubbles. Thanks for a great stay!

  23. Dennis

We loved the stay. The house was so conveniently located to everything! We had a little family gathering on the 4th and the open area of the downstairs made it easy and comfortable. Cousins got to spend some time together! Thanks for the comfortable beds and pillows, the abundance of towels and the well stocked kitchen! We had everything we needed. Thank you for helping make our stay so great!

  24. Daly

Thanks for some great memories. We hiked and took in the beautiful views of Acadia. Highlights: hiking the bubbles, Jordan Pond House, Great Head Trail, Acadia Mountain Trail, 2 Cats for breakfast. We loved the location of the house, which made everything in town so close and walkable. We ate at Rosalie’s twice it was so good. Acadia is beautiful and there is so much to see and do that we’ll have to come back again and again. We hope to stay here in the future. Thank you.

  26. Austin (Age 7)

I had a very good week. I don’t want to go home because I loved battleship corridor. I like that you can look at the stars here. I like that your house is near the ocean and I had a very good time!!!

  27. Laura

The best part of the vacation was having time with my daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. We hiked, biked and kayaked all through the area. Having your house for home base made it possible to enjoy walks in town as well as the Acadia National Park adventure. Thank you.

  28. John

We could not have asked for a better week, weather-wise! Had a great time with our family. We hiked around Jordan Pond and then enjoyed popovers, spent two days at the beach (Sand and Echo lake) and hiked the Great Harbor Trail (great views!) Can’t beat the view from Cadillac Mountain! Many walks around town. Too many great memories to list here. Hope we can return to Island Time again soon. Hope the next guests have as great a time as we did!
