Greatly enjoyed our stay with 2 kids, 2 adults and a dog. Well outfitted kitchen. The canoe and kayak were a great treat and our afternoons on the lake boating and swimming were sublime. Jennifer was very proactive when a pilot light went out-quick attention and resolution. Very responsive and friendly.
We had a wonderful stay at the Lodge! Loved getting out on the water in the canoe 🙂
Enjoyed our stay very much. We will be back for sure. We ran out of time to do all the things we wanted to do. Awesome Location!
Great locations and nice place!
Thank you so much, this is our second time at Lobster Lodge and we loved it just as much. The weather was perfect for kayaking and hiking. We appreciate your hospitality!
Thanks for a great place to stay!
We loved this house! We had a lot of fun canoeing , lighting a fire (that part was surprisingly hard) We climbed Beech Cliff Trails. My favorite might have been using my new pocket knife.
Good value, everything as described. We would stay here again!
Amazing location and appreciated plenty of towels, glasses, bottled water and cleaning supplies, etc. The cabin is by the road, but did not have overwhelming road noise in the evening. I would recommend this location and area out of the scuttle of Bar Harbor and convenient to Southwest Harbor and all the hiking areas.
Really beautiful spot-we loved the lake, deck and paddling.
What a fun week at Lobster Lodge! Kayaking, sitting by the fire, reading about Bar Harbor and The Life of Lobsters were all such treats! The rain dampened the fireworks show, but not our fun! We enjoyed great restaurants and shops all around the Island! Acadia is beautiful and we got in a few hikes. Our favorite was Cadillac Mountain, but make reservations two days ahead. Thanks again for having a well-stocked cabin for us to call “home” for a week.
Our trip to Acadia National Park was so memorable! We walked around Jordan Pond, and went to Bar Harbor for a whale watching tour and even conquered the Beehive trail!! After adventurous days we loved coming back to the cozy cottage to enjoy the fire and a warm meal. The canoe and kayak were a hit! Thank you for accommodating us and providing every small detail to make this our favorite vacation as of yet.
Lobster Lodge was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped for everything we wanted to make. We loved having access to the canoe and kayak for paddling. We enjoyed our time on the quiet side of Mount Desert Island.
Great place as advertised.
Nice rustic lodge, convenient to many hiking and biking trails. Plenty of space to hang out if staying in.
We loved Acadia and our home at Lobster Lodge! We enjoyed using the canoe and kayak and the jigsaw puzzles. It was so nice to have a quiet place to come back to after a busy day exploring. We loved the Somesville Church pie sale-YUM!
We had a wonderful stay here. We did plenty of hiking in the beautiful weather. We had our dog and she was certainly very happy being here, she has a great time as well. We all loved hearing the loons at night, and just this morning we saw a doe and her fawn outside! Thank you for the hospitality!
Outstanding cozy atmosphere and a great location. Cooked in the cabin 5 nights including using the grill and boiling up some lobsters. I would definitely stay here again!
Centrally located, easy access to lots of trails and Southwest Harbor. Very good cabin atmosphere.
Location was great-easy drive to Acadia. Kitchen was well equipped, and the side road was great for walking the dog.
Just adorable and extremely clean!
Really loved this place! It was a perfect location. Also, the cooking equipment was much better than I hoped for.
Would recommend.
What a lovely cabin, we canoed to the beach twice, sat by the lovely chiminea, and enjoyed all the wonderful amenities Mount Desert Island had to provide. Didn’t see a moose though.
Wow is this place in a prime location to start, near Beech Mountain’s beautiful sunset and a short drive from strenuous Acadia Mountain and within 20 minutes of all the other attractions this was so ideal to visit Bar Harbor , Acadia and even lovely Ellsworth (check out Fogtown Brewery).
This gorgeous cabin features a canoe and a kayak which are so much fun to take out on Echo Lake, with only a 30 minute ride to a beautiful beach! Couldn’t have asked for more from this place, lovely amenities and perfect feel. Had a Roku and chiminea to help us wind down at night and perfect access for anything and everything we could think of doing! Will 100% be visiting again.
We spent a fun week at Lobster Lodge. The cottage was comfortable, the fire pit was great and access to the boats was fun. A great location to everything on Mount Desert Island. The cabin was close to the road, so there was a good deal of noise during the day, but not noticeable at night. It was great to be able to bring our dog as it’s such a dog friendly area. Although a very hot and humid week, the fans were able to cool us off enough to sleep comfortably at night. Communication with the owners was quick and wonderful. We would definitely consider staying again.
Great place to stay. Convenient to all of Acadia. Nice to be on the Quiet side, but easy access to Bar Harbor. Jennifer was very responsive to any questions So great to have coffee and filters, matches and wood for the Chiminea provided and a Brita filter in the fridge. Nice touches! Gas grill worked well and the Chiminea was great. Great way to relax after our day of activities. Only thing to note, close to the road, so more noise than I’d expect from a cabin in the woods. Totally recommend staying here.
We enjoyed this cozy cabin very much. It was always such a great haven to come back to after a long day. We enjoyed Acadia Park, hiking Jordan Pond, eating lobster, shopping at Bar Harbor, canoeing on Echo Lake, grabbing ice cream and spending time at the cabin. Many blessings,
This cabin is appointed with everything you need but also has a rustic charm to it. It’s centrally located near everything but not too close to the busy parts of the island. The fire pit is lovely and the kitchen is well stocked with essential implements for making food at the cabin. Thanks for a great property, Jennifer.
Our trip here was incredible! Everything was perfect & beautiful. All our hikes we saw new things. Lobster Lodge was a perfect home for the week! Thank you!
We loved staying at this little house! It reminded me of my great uncle’s lake cabin when I was a kid. Everything we needed and a great location on the island. We <3 Acadia!
Out trip to Acadia National Park was so memorable! We walked around Jordan Pond and went to Bar Harbor for a whale watching tour and even conquered Beehive Trail!!1 After our adventurous days we loved coming back to this cozy cottage to enjoy the fire and a warm meal. The canoe and kayak were a hit! Thank you for accommodating us & providing every small detail to make this our favorite vacation as of yet 🙂
Place was great. Would gladly stay here again. Can get chilly at night but that’s not something that bothers me, just turn the heat up a little. Location is nice, it’s away from the bustle of the towns but since the island isn’t huge it’s quick to get around.
Enjoyed our stay. Kitchen supplies were sufficient as we cooked a few nights in.
Hikes in Acadia National Park never failed to amaze-views everywhere are lovely. One reason we love the area. Another is how the lobster is cooked to perfection and fried clams are crisp and not greasy. The Mainers do this well!
Hiked South Bubble, Pemetic, Beehive and Beech. Walked along Sand Beach and Ocean Path. Visited Mt. Desert Ice Cream in Bar Harbor for great unique flavors- Outstanding! Also visited Quietside Café for ice cream- delicious.
Enjoyed some wine, beer, and cigars by the chimenea at night.
Visited Atlantic Brewing in Bar Harbor for a flight of beers to try along with poutine. Also the Cottage Pub for divine cocktails.
Other highlights were Asticou Gardens although this time of year flowers are not in bloom. Lovely gardens and pathways. As we travel- we always being a puzzle to do and together, it was completed!!! We watched Netflix, read, and relaxed between hikes and exploring.
We also enjoyed a carriage ride and popovers at Jordan Pond House.
Our last hike of the week was Dorr Mountain, the ladder trail.
Great week with family- good memories.
Thank you
P.S. Also saw the sunrise at the top of Cadillac Mountain!
We had an amazing time at Lobster Lodge. It was so nice to have family time together here in Maine. The canoe and kayak were an awesome addition to the cabin. We had a lot of fun doing that and hiking and enjoying the area. Thank you for making this memorable for us.
My family and I stayed at the Lobster Lodge. We were close to everything that we needed and were able to explore the beautiful area with ease from this perfect setting. A small trail leads from the cabin to Echo Lake where you can kayak and canoe to swimming areas. The local market is also very close and convenient. The property owner is very accommodating and responded quickly to our questions. We hope to return!
Lobster Lodge is ideally located at the top of Echo Lake just above Sommesville, with easy access to Acadia Park, Bar Harbor, Southwest Harbor and more. My two sons and I hiked, canoed, sailed and visited every corner of MDI. Accommodations were perfect. Comfortable. Spotless. Everything we wouldn’t have even thought we’d need was provided for us. We’d canoe on Echo Lake in the morning and sit by the fire in the evening. Could not have hoped for more.
The location is close enough to Bar Harbor but really close to several areas of Acadia National Park. It is a rustic cabin and for me who likes to stay in nice hotels or condos this was great. Very clean and they provided a bunch of the everyday items that most people forget to pack. It does not have AC, but at night with the windows open and the fans on, it was not missed at all. There is a kayak and canoe with life jackets to use, we unfortunately did not get a chance to use them for our trip. We spent the vast majority of our days out and about the island and it was nice to explore and have some family time.
We had a wonderful time here. The cabin was clean and quaint. Our dog was right at home here. We spent a few days out and about, but we also got to rest and relax here in the cabin too. Thanks so much for the hospitality.
The Lobster Lodge was a great location for us to do all of our favorite things on MDI- hiking and biking in Acadia National Park, lobster at Thurston’s Lobster Pound, and meals at Geddy’s (awesome gluten-fee food!) in Bar Harbor. The mosquitoes were a little too thick this time to enjoy the outdoor aspects of this cabin such as the firepit and fishing & boating, but we had a great vacation. Thanks!
Loved the fire pit and canoeing on the lake! Acadia is gorgeous and we were glad to have a cozy place to retire after a long day of hiking and exploring. Thanks for a great stay! P.S. We got engaged here!!!
The cottage was clean, cozy, and neat. Jennifer was very helpful with tips of the local places to eat and sites to see. I would definitely come back and stay at Lobster Lodge again!!
This cottage was comfortable and in a good location with easy access to Acadia, Southwest Harbor, and Bar Harbor. Jennifer was helpful and easy to work with prior to our arrival. We enjoyed the cottage!
We had a wonderful stay at Lobster Lodge! We loved exploring MDI and Acadia. Canoeing in the morning and sitting by the fire in the evening added perfect touches to our relaxing vacation.
We had a wonderful stay at Lobster Lodge! The cabin had everything we needed to enjoy our stay and the use of the canoe and the chimenea were wonderful bonuses. We are already thinking about when we would like to come back for our next visit! Thank you, we really enjoyed our stay!
We had a very nice stay at the Lobster Lodge. The highlights were: the proximity to hiking locations and Bar Harbor (and we were able to wave down the free Explorer bus many times and didn’t have to deal with parking); the ability to go canoeing on Echo Lake and see a million stars at night; and the kitchen that allowed us to eat in for many of our meals. Overall, it was a very good stay. Thank you.
We had a lovely stay at the Lobster Lodge- complete with canoeing, hiking and good eating.
We loved our stay in Lobster Lodge! Such a cozy place and perfect way for us to explore Acadia! Our last day here, we took the canoe and kayak out and paddled the length of Echo Lake- so beautiful! And we found everything we needed to make some lovely dinners. For those coming after us with families- the Acadia Park Rangers are amazing and put together some really fun and engaging programs for the kids, definitely worth checking out!
We loved our time at Lobster Lodge and will definitely be back again!
We had a great time staying at Lobster Lodge. It was so convenient to everything we did while here in Acadia. Loved going to Cadillac Mountain to watch the sunrise!! Loved shopping in Bar Harbor. Loved all the coves and inlets and driving the loop road in Acadia. We loved Maine! Thank you!!
Thank you for sharing you adorable cabin with us! We had a wonderful time <3
Charming, well appointed little cabin! We did a lot of cooking here. Two lobster dinners plus two others! We had everything we needed plus the serving ware, dishes, wine glasses, etc. gave the spread real pizzaz! We made a fire, kayaked, hiked Echo Lake Loop numerous times and enjoyed our conversations with the folks who live along the lake. One lady and her family have been coming here every summer for the past 46 years! We also enjoyed sitting out on the little deck and sleeping in the comfy cool (temp-wise) beds. A word of advice- use the dustpan and broom for cleaning floors and rugs. works better than the sweeper and easy as pie! We would love to come back! Easy access to Acadia and all the harbors, friendly folk at Maine Island Properties and the maine woods are spectacular! had a great time!
Thank you! We had a lovely time here. Great location for exploring Acadia and we LOVED the kayak/canoe- thank you SO much for including them with our stay!
The Lobster Lodge was great! We enjoyed doing the puzzle and loved being close to Echo Lake.
Love the island! The cabin was wonderful and cozy when it rained!
We enjoyed this cozy cabin. The canoe was great to have. Its such a nice place to stay. We had fun in a lot of parts of Acadia. It was a great trip.
We love Lobster Lodge!
We had a great time in Maine! Our children loved exploring Acadia and browsing in Bar Harbor! The “Lobster Lodge” was just the perfect size for us. Thank you and safe travels to those who come after us.
We loved the lobster lodge! After a long day of hiking and boating, we could come home to this cozy cabin. Canoe and kayaking was amazing! I hope everyone else staying here enjoys exploring Acadia as much as I did.
