The listing doesn’t do the home justice! It was better than described. Serene location, quiet and peaceful but close to all of the local attractions. A bathroom for each bedroom was a great perk! House felt very “homey” and comfortable. Host was very responsive and proactively sent necessary information.

  2. Guests

We loved the charm of this place. We also loved how much space we had~every couple had their own restroom. We were outside on the property at night where you could see all of the stars. Our morning coffee was out there too. We walked to a nearby restaurant where we had the best lobster meal. We could not be happier with our experience. A little feedback, the decor is older but it is well maintained. There is a bit of clean up on check out day but the host was gracious about it.

  3. Guest

A lovely home just a few minutes from Bar Harbor. Fantastic location for enjoying the waterfront and super close to Acadia. House was well equipped with linens, towels, kitchen supplies and even a nice grill. We loved this peaceful escape!

The properties is beautiful and sits right on top of the water. Great place if you like to kayak and canoe, they have those amenities there. Great porch to sit out on if you like to have coffee and watch the sunrise. There is a screened porch as well. Very good accommodations. The rooms are spacious. The bedding is comfortable. They have a washer and dryer in the house. The kitchen is adequately equipped, so there’s nothing lacking. There is also a grill, there is everything that you need to have a good week.

The place was beautiful. We loved sitting out back and walking along the stony beach. Kayaks were fun! Being so close to Acadia and Bar Harbor, made it easy. Loved that there was hand soap in all the bathrooms, dishwasher soap and laundry soap. It was great having bedrooms and private bathrooms for everyone. What a nice surprise to find out that it used to be an old Bed and Breakfast Inn.

  10. Guest

The cottage is in a great location, very private but close to Bar Harbor but outside the hustle. There is plenty of room inside and a beautiful outdoor waterfront area. Overall very good experience.

We loved spending time in the backyard and down at the water and the view is amazing. Location is convenient to downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Would highly recommend!

  20. Guest

This was our first visit to Maine. We felt at home and comfortable. The view is breathtakingly beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. It was very conveniently located close to Hulls Cove entrance and Acadia National Park, to Cottage Street that has a lot of options for food anytime of the day, shopping and the Harbor to catch a sunset cruise. They provided kayaks, horseshoes, fishing poles and plenty of outdoor seating to relax while watching the boats, wildlife, the sunrise or sunset and the tides. Great home I would recommend.

  21. Guests

    Dear Homeowner,
Thank you for a wonderful stay in beautiful Bar Harbor, we played hard. We hiked, we swam and we biked for the first time ever! We ate a pie from next door and it was scrumptious! A little slice of heaven and rhubarb! Thank you for an amazing stay!

  38. Burke, Cooper, Hamorsky and Harris families

Gorgeous home and property with such great views. We enjoyed all the comfortable rooms and seating, and fully stocked cooking ware. Kayaks were perfect and we saw a sea lion and other wild life. Everything we needed and wanted for our Air Force Mini-Reunion. (We were all stationed in Hawaii 30 something years ago) Thank you for a fantastic week!

  39. Hestbeck family

Our stay was very nice. They had two big clean areas downstairs with comfy seating and the perfect amount of coffee tables. The rooms were the perfect size too. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were nice and clean.

  40. Guest

We loved Hulls Cove-fabulous location, the views were unbeatable, a gazebo with table and benches for game playing, access to 3 kayaks and a canoe and everyone had their own bathroom. We have rented through VRBO many times and this was by far the most well equipped-everything you needed from mix master to coffee filters. Very handy is the little grocery/bakery down the street (wonderful muffins). Highly recommend Acadia Lobster Boat, bike rentals from Bar Harbor bikes (splurge on the e-bikes, hilly Acadia National Park trails make it worth it) and Thurston’s Lobster Pound.

  41. Bonita

Spacious waterfront home, close to Acadia. Private bathrooms for each of the upstairs bathrooms was a plus.

  42. Dominique

Amazing view and nice facility for a big family with young couples, convenient location, suitable amenities with enough space for everyone to be private but altogether at the same time. The outdoor areas are comfortable and well maintained. Lots of areas to settle down and relax. Prompt response with any troubleshooting. We had a happy week!

  43. Gail

    Kayaking, biking, shopping. Good restaurants.

  44. Long and Cooper families

The house was wonderful. The view was amazing. The lobster was delicious, it was perfect vacation. We will be making lots of memories. Thank you!

  45. Jeffrey

Perfect location just out of the park and minutes to downtown. The house itself was exactly the Maine cottage feel we were looking for in a family vacation.

  46. Hancock family

The house is a treasure and the landscaping is so beautiful. Lot of room for 3 families and furnished with everything to stay comfy. The Chart Room was a great place to eat without going into “civilization”. The proximity of the park is high on our lists! We could explore there for days and days. This is indeed a special place. I hope to return and make more memories.

  47. Costello family

2020 Family trip finally realized in 2022. Couldn’t imagine a better setting then Covend. Such a beautiful house and view! A perfect home base for all our excursions into Bar Harbor and Acadia. All of our first times here but not our last. Enjoyed kayaks and canoe, climbing mountains, ate lobster in (almost) all its glorious forms and took in hundreds of amazing views and memories. Thank you!

  48. Schnake & Beaumier families

We all love Maine, sea smells to sea shells. We hope your stay is as awesome as ours was. All of us highly recommend sea food, lobster, cod or something else. Don’t forget to go to the beach and Acadia National Park too!

  49. Getz & Nolen families

Your home was a lovely landing spot for our Maine adventures with friends! We are here celebrating 2 high school graduates and sharing out beloved Maine with friends. We did it all…boat tour, Acadia tour and hike, and so much great food! Thank you!

  50. Guest

Covend is truly a treasure! The comfortable cottage with the private waterfront and the daily seal show keeps calling our return annually. We hiked all of our favorite carriage trails, ate loads of seafood, and just soaked up the atmosphere.

  51. Steve & Janeann

Once again the weather was perfect for our week, except for one day. We bicycled on Rockefellers Carriage Trails for four days and got a total of 40 miles. Saw common loons each day from the front porch and eider ducks off Otter Cliffs. Ate plenty of lobster and steamer clams. Watched the Crown on Netflix in the evenings. We feel that Covend Cottage is a special place and look forward to coming to each September. Our very best wishes to you both; Norm and Diane.

  52. Tim & Nancy

Thank you for rescuing us from our” misadventures” on the Quietside of the Island. We really appreciate the extra time and effort you took to find other accommodations for us, after losing the power at out initial rental. Couldn’t have worked out better, we really appreciated the beautiful view, well equipped kitchen and warm showers! We enjoyed watching your butterfly garden, where we saw Monarchs and other butterflies, lots of bees, hummingbirds and even a hummingbird moth! The moth looks like a small hummingbird but drinks the nectar from the purple flowers with a long tongue, fascinating! Thanks again!

  53. Collins Family

We loved our stay at this house. Great time to enjoy the nature of the island. We enjoyed playing croquet in the yard and kayaking around the cove. Hope to come back in the future!

  54. Rose family

Great vacation-beautiful location and the weather was fantastic! Kids loved catching crabs and clams. Canoe and Kayak were huge! Great views.

  55. Etter, Ward and Graff families

Survived Elsa! Great time on the shore and in the house with kids. Thank you!
Be sure to hit up Beal’s Pier.

  56. Guest

Loved the character of the house and fabulous views.

  57. This trip gave us a wonderful opportunity to escape from the COVID-19 epidemic. It gave us the ability to be free outdoors and away from home after so long. We started hiking during the pandemic and felt up to trying ourselves out up in Maine in Acadia National Park. Luckily, we found this spacious house where we could feel comfortable staying away and not in a hotel. A place where we could spread out inside and out without being too close to other people. Covend House was the solution, beautifully situated on the ocean and in close proximity to the National Park. Perfect. We explored the park, and enjoyed its beautiful landscapes, mountainscapes, seascapes and stunning views and experiences. We enjoyed lobsters and travelling around the Island. We enjoyed your indoor and outdoor space. Loved Maine and will definitely return to you state!

  58. We had an amazing time with family and friends at this wonderful home! Acadia is a national treasure and we thoroughly enjoyed it! We will be back!

  59. Barbara, Sharon, Michael and Marianne

Had a wonderful vacation in this beautiful home, which had everything you could ask for. Looking forward to our next trip.

  60. Guest

This property was everything it was advertised and the entire family had a wonderful time. Loved the kayaks, close proximity to Acadia and town. Also loved the views and enjoying time sitting outside in the chairs looking at Frenchman’s bay. Would definitely rent this home again.

  61. Guest

I was traveling with my 80 years young parents and a few of my siblings and we had a blast. So convenient to Bar Harbor, and all of Acadia. The house was extremely well appointed and functioned well for us. We would all return to the property.

  62. Guest

My family and I enjoyed our stay at the Hulls Cove house immensely. The house we typically rent in Bar Harbor wasn’t available for the week we wanted so we had to try someplace new, that is how we found the Hulls Cove house, and we are glad we did. The home is beautiful with views to match. My girls (7 and 4) loved exploring the beach at low tide and we enjoyed as many meals as possible on the deck with a wonderful view of Hulls Cove. The views aren’t lost when inside either with the big living room and bedrooms having plenty of windows to watch the sun and moon rise each day. This house was less than a ten minute drive to town and only a couple of minutes away from entering the park at the Hulls Cove entrance. I think we’ve found our new go to place when visiting Acadia/Bar Harbor.

  63. Guest

Great location and very accommodating rooms. All with own full bath! Would definitely consider renting again.

  64. Guest

The house is lovely. Plenty of space for our 2 families. Love that each bedroom has a bath. The AC was awesome since we had temps near 90. The view is spectacular and the distance from town is perfect. Would definitely stay again.

  65. Guest

Everything was great and great ocean front property, fun for all!

  66. Guest

We had a wonderful time at Covend. The house was perfect for our family. We were close to everything without being in the middle of the tourists. We enjoyed the kayaks and canoe, and everyone loved playing croquet.

  67. Guest

Perfect vacation home-great location for Acadia.

  68. Guest

Beautiful views , on the water, bike to Acadia and lakes. Short drive to town. Location and amenities made out stay amazing!

  69. Guest

The property was along a quiet shoreline with clam waters which was great for the kids. The house is in a great location-very close to Acadia Hulls Cove entrance and downtown Bar Harbor. I would recommend this property!

  70. Three families

Wonderful way to celebrate our 50th with our children and grandchildren. Loved it.

  71. Five families

Amazing time! Beautiful house and great friends! Can’t wait to come back!

Fourteen of us had a wonderful time- plenty of room for the adults and kids to visit and play.

Very nice accommodations. Lots of activities and hiking and exploring to do. I will come back again some day.

We don’t want to leave! What a wonderful place to stay- close to everything, and the views are just breathtaking <3

  72. Guests from Georgia, Connecticut, Illinios, and Ohio

We had a wonderful time in your beautiful house. There was plenty of room for the nine of us and we had everything we needed and more! We loved the pavilion in the afternoons, coffee in the Adirondack chairs, croquet on the lower lawn, and many meals at the dining room table. We have so many memories to take home with us- our first family vacation in nine years! Thank you!

  73. Guests

We had a wonderful week with our first cousin and wife and her twin sister and husband. We are all seniors. The weather was beautiful, except for one day. Everyone had a great time. We did 30 miles of biking on Rockefeller’s carriage trails and ate plenty of seafood. I showed the group all of the special places in Acadia. Our relatives and friends fell in love with Acadia as we have over the years.

  74. Guests from Ohio & Indiana

What a beautiful home to share with our family! This is our 2nd trip to the Northeast and it did not disappoint.. Acadia, Cadillac Mountain-Jordan Pond- to mention just a few, filled our hearts- God’s creation at its best. We highly recommend Jordan’s for breakfast on Cottage Street (best waiters and waitresses). This home is beautifully situated. Thank you for the fun, relaxation, and the amazing views- what memories we made. Blessings!

  75. Guests from Alabama & Michigan

We had a great stay! Family reunion- house was perfect for our needs. Thanks for a great stay in Bar Harbor.

  76. Families from MA, VA, and MD

What a wonderful place for a reunion of our families. Beautiful views and a well stocked house make for a comfortable stay. We almost met our goal of having lobster daily! The kid’s favorites: Jordan Pond, Great Head Trail (gorgeous views!), MDI Ice Cream, Nature Cruise and Sand Beach. Thank you! P.S. We consumed 20+ pounds of lobster during our stay- so delicious.

  77. Three families

We had a great time in Acadia! Enjoyed Sand Beach, Echo Lake, Jordan Pond, and DiverEd! And lots of hikes too. Loved having the waterfront for kayaking and skipping rocks! Thank you!

  78. Three families

Beautiful house in a prime location! We recommend West Street Café, Upper Deck, Route 66 & Peppers (for the ice cream)! All our Acadia hikes gave beautiful views, recommend that everyone does the Beehive!! Thank you!

  79. Guests from CT, OH and VA

We had a wonderful week bringing together our families from CT, OH and VA. Hiking, kayaking, biking, and eating everything blueberry and lobster! Thank you!

  80. Guests from New York

The house was wonderful for our two families to enjoy time together. Our favorites for the week: hiking Cadillac, Day & Beech Mountains. We did plenty of kayaking where we saw eagles, dolphins and jellyfish. Whale watching, we didn’t see whales, but did see puffins and would still recommend. You shouldn’t miss visiting Havana, Thurston’s or the Thirsty Whale for awesome food. To get the best clam chowder in Bar Harbor, we determined after extensive research, that you must check out Upper Deck. Thanks for sharing your home with us for a very memorable week!

  81. Guests from North Carolina

We had a great time- the weather was great and we never ran out of things to do and explore. Best hike- Acadia Mountain: a great workout. Best restaurant- Jordan’s for breakfast: yummy blueberry pancakes & blueberry pie. Make sure you experience eating a whole Maine lobster- so good! Bass Harbor’s two hour cruise on the R.L. Gott was enjoyable and we loved seeing the bald eagles and harbor seals. Mochas and lobster melts at the Independent were a nice treat after shopping in the afternoon. Lobster rolls at the West Street Café were yummy. We caught some brook trout in Bubble Pond and the views from Cadillac Mountain can’t be beat. Also loved climbing the rocks at Otter Cliffs. But if you’re home- get some ice cream from Pepper’s or jump into the cool Maine waters for an afternoon swim in Lake Wood right up the street. Not enough time and too many places to go- as always. Can’t wait to come back!

  82. Family gathering 9/2/17

We so enjoyed our stay here. House was perfect for us and we had a great time exploring MDI.

  83. The Iowa 8

Loved eating lunch in the gazebo:-) The adirondack chairs were so comfortable to enjoy the ocean from! Kayaking was quite a joy! Thanks so much.

  84. Clarissa, Ana, Lisa, Todd and Karin

What a wonderful week. We were blessed with near perfect weather. The house and grounds are beautiful. We loved the kayaks and canoes. We learned (to much hysterical laughter) that the small canoes is only for 1 person not 1 adult and 1 child. Lulu’s Lobster Boat Tour was great, as was walking in Acadia, eating lobster and mussels. We even tried Lobster Ice Cream! Thanks for sharing your house.

  85. Three families from Texas

The house is beautiful! It worked perfectly for our family escape from the Texas heat. We hiked the trails of Acadia, kayaked/canoed on the property, went whale watching, took a nature/seal/lobster tour, two ghost tours and ate copious amounts of seafood (Thurstons is awesome!) Mini golf at Pirate’s Cove was fun for all ages as well. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

  86. Three families from PA

Second time staying at your most comfortable home. You can just feel any tension you might have fade away. My son stayed up to 4:00am just looking out over the bay. The kids scrambled over the rocks in Acadia and Seawall and enjoyed the kayaks. Shopped in Bar Harbor and Southwest Harbor and ate at Beal’s and Mainely Meats – great ice cream! Thank you again for sharing your home. It’s hard to leave.

  87. Megan & Jimmy and clan

Your home is beautiful! Thank you for sharing it with us. We loved our week in Acadia, Bar Harbor and the surrounding islands! So peaceful and beautiful.

  88. Carol

We absolutely loved the home!! We made use of the kayaks and canoe and adored the view from the home. It was perfect for my large crowd. Everyone had a “corner” to go to if they wanted privacy. Covend has spoiled me for anything else!

  89. Guest

Cool and pleasant, wonderful house with spectacular views! Ocean Path in Acadia was one of many highlights. A short visit to Islesford was great!

  90. Pete

We had a great time. MDI is spectacular- hiking, biking, boat cruise, blueberries and lobster, lobster, lobster. Thanks!

  91. Owen

    Great trip! Beautiful island!

  92. Steve

We enjoyed watching the boats and cruise ships from the beautiful house. On two gorgeous days, we hiked Champlain Mountain, the bowl to Sand Beach and biked from the Visitors Center to Jordan Pond and back. Lastly, we went to Bass Harbor Lighthouse and Thurston’s. A truly perfect week!

We had a wonderful time in Bar Harbor and the house was beautiful and very accommodating. Hiked all over Acadia, took a horse carriage ride in the park as well. Lulu Lobster boat tour was well worth it, very informative and saw a lot of seals. Had a great whale watching tour seeing a lot of whales. Ended the week with a relaxing kayak trip. Little Anthony Sports Bar has wonderful pizza and meatballs!!

    Thank You 🙂

We had four generations of our family together here at your beautiful home. This house was great in accommodating all of us. We read and drank coffee on the porch with such a great view, went into Bar Harbor for some great meals and took hikes on the scenic trails in the park. We had great weather and loved spending time with our family at your home. We will definitely be returning to Maine in the future.

Great to be together to celebrate family birthdays. Watching the tide roll away is very habit forming and the cove provides the perfect backdrop for every vacation pastime (eating, drinking, talking etc). We are so happy you have found this peaceful home and look forward to many more returns. Thanks you for a wonderful time.

Your home is beautiful and a great location for the many local attractions. We hiked, biked, shopped and many other things. Fresh lobster at Trenton Bridge is a treat not to be missed. The Jordan House is a tradition not to be missed either. The natural beauty of the island can be enjoyed many ways, be sure to find this out for yourself. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
